Gorgeous old-world Russian cabaret collides with Schnittke and the Residents in this post-cabaret punk chamber ensemble. Barbez are: Ksenia Vidyaykana (vocals), Dan Kaufman (guitar), Pamelia Kurstin (theremin), Shahzad Ismaily (bass), Danny Tunick (marimba, vibes), Corey Fogel (drums). Barbez are back from a sausage and beer themed tour of Europe...highlights included playing an icy squat in Paris and being able to smoke onstage. They'll be celebrating their return with a homecoming show with The Beat Circus, a fun-loving, carnivalesque septet (trumpet, accordion, alto sax, banjo, musical saw, tuba and drums) from Boston.
